Civilian Instructor Burak Apaydin - DofE Officer

Burak Apaydin

Burak served in the Commando Regiment of the Turkish Army and attained the rank of Second Lieutenant. His training involved commando techniques and in the mountains and he led a team of 15 commando soldiers including 2 Sergeants and 2 Corporals.

He studied Forestry Engineering and worked on many Forest Management projects in Turkey. He is a Black Belt in Taekwondo (Kukkiwon) and continues his training whenever he gets the time.

He is currently working at B&Q TradePoint as an Assistant Manager and is training to be a Special Constable in the Metropolitan Police Service.

Burak began his volunteering with 342 in October 2009 and has been the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Officer to date. He has found it very exciting and rewarding working within the cadets and the ATC organization. During his service he has successfully completed the Basic Expedition Leadership Course and the St John's Ambulance First Aid Course.

Burak is married and the father of two children.
